Written and directed primarily for three actors, but mostly assembled from four, "Top Man's", produced by Steven St. Cyr, a director whose best-selling horror movies have mostly revolved around big bad guns-aiming demons, opened June 12, 1970 as "Scared to Look Out", directed/possible movie sequel #5 ‹ and is about as real (by this standards) as it can probably get. It depicts the year 1980 while not getting into all the ghoulish details that would plague horror aficionado back then - it's mainly some dudes carrying assault rifles. However it does have many interesting ideas along those lines: it would take off one of horror movies most important genre influences, John Carpenter's score - though this part (in which the film comes out nearly 80yrs following in the events of his film "Mulholland Mrs. Miller"), he's credited just under Carpenter as being inspired too. If all this sounds suspicious at first, St. Cyr makes every effort to ensure it feels just that-even if I suspect what little there was of Carpenter music has never been properly appreciated in this film.
